Course Description

Our Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices (RQF) is the recognized industry standard certification for those aspiring to become Lead IQAs (Internal Quality Assurers). Awarding organisations and training facilities typically mandate candidates to possess or be actively pursuing this Level 4 IQA certification to qualify for an IQA role.

Possession of the NVQ/TAQA qualification enables individuals to supervise assessors and an internal verification team within an organisation. Accredited by UK OFQUAL, this Level 4 Leading IQA qualification is tailored to support individuals proficient in any subject area. However, practical application of the course necessitates individuals to have access to quality assurance opportunities for internal verifiers and competent assessors in their workplace.

Unit 1: Understanding the Principles and Practices of Internally Assuring the Quality of Assessment

Unit 2: Internally Assure the Quality of Assessment

Unit 3: Plan, Allocate and Monitor Work in Own Area of Responsibility

The written task and evidence for demonstrating practical IQA skills entail the trainee IQA’s assessment of the work of two assessors handling their own learners for unit 2.

For unit 3’s practical aspect, the trainee IQA must oversee the work of two IQAs supporting assessors of their own. The evidence validating the trainee IQA’s performance must be authentic, valid, and adequate for all unit components.

The course provides modules that learners can complete at their own pace. Completion can vary from one month to as long as nine months, depending on the individual’s speed. Nevertheless, access to the course expires after a year, and re-enrollment fees may apply.
