Course Description

The standard course for industry assessors, the A1 Assessor course has replaced  with the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (RQF), commonly referred to as the Level 3 CAVA Assessor certificate. The need for a CAVA assessor certificate is frequently stipulated by various industry sector examinations and assessments. Initially, the acquisition of A1 Assessor Awards was accomplished through D32 and D33 modules, which were subsequently substituted by the TAQA suite of certifications. It’s noteworthy that there are no prerequisites or experience requirements for enrolling in this assessor course.

Simultaneously, certain institutions also acknowledge the Level 3 Award in Assessing Competency in the Work Environment as an alternative, providing a quicker and more cost-effective route.

Unit 1: Understanding the principles and practices of assessment
Unit 2: Assess occupational competence in the work environment
Unit 3: Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding

Written tasks will encompass practical demonstrations of assessment abilities, where individuals will need to evaluate learners participating in both work-based and theoretical courses for the 2nd and 3rd units of the course.

The course provides modules that can be completed at one’s own pace, ranging from one week to two months. However, access to the course expires after a year, and there is a re-enrollment fee if needed.
